1949-1950's Summertime Buckland Center News

Our Buckland, a summer only publication of Buckand Center news
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous friend, in October of 2024 the church was gifted 100 printed copies of a collection of "Our Buckland," a small local newspaper full of Buckland news, poetry, and commentary for the years 1949 to 1955.
Over 200 pages, this is a wonderful tribute to the people who lived and visited in Buckland, Massachusetts during the summers of 1949 to the mid 1950’s. Locals and visitors alike enjoyed the beautiful hills, the farms, and fairs of the area. Whether activities took place at the Grange No. 87 Hall or at the Mary Lyon Church or at other locations, “Our Buckland” captured what was going on.
This collection of Our Buckland was printed and spiral bound at no cost by an anonymous benefactor and is offered to the Mary Lyon Church as a way to raise funds for their rich work at the church in Buckland and what they represent and offer to the surrounding communities.
A donation of $15.00 per copy is suggested – 100% of donations will be given to the church.
Copies can be mailed for an approximate additional cost of $7.00 (media mail costs often depend on destination).
Copies are available on Sundays at the church during worship and at coffee hour afterwards (10:30am till noontime) or contact us to make other arrangements:
