Buckland, MA, Public Hall
Located at 15 Upper Street, Buckland Center, MA 01338 - in the heart of a western Massachusetts hilltown, the Buckland Public Hall was built in 1850 and is an outstanding example of the Greek Revival architectural style.
Though it originally served as a meeting house for the Methodist Episcopal Society of Buckland and Ashfield, the Hall long ago ceased to be a church.
It was moved to its current location in 1890 (located on the north end of the First Congregational Church of Buckland, aka The Mary Lyon Church) to make room for the Buckland Public Library.
The Buckland Grange No. 87 used the building as their meeting Hall starting in 1903, when their organization was chartered. The Grange disbanded in 1967, and sold their Hall to the Mary Lyon Church.
The Hall has been revitalized through the dedication and hard work of many individuals and businesses. Restored to beauty and usefulness, it is open for a wide range of public and private functions. Contact us for rental details.
