The Music of Phil Ochs

Local musician John Yannis will present “The Music of Phil Ochs” at the First Congregational Church (UCC) of Ashfield on April 9, 2026, the 50th anniversary of Ochs’ death. Songs from the full span of Ochs’ catalog will be offered, with Yannis accompanying himself on a Martin guitar, as well as on the church’s newly-acquired piano. The concert begins at 7 PM (doors open at 6:45). The church is located at 429 Main Street in Ashfield, and is handicap accessible. For more information, call (413) 944-6168.

Philip David Ochs was an American songwriter, protest singer, and political activist. Ochs was known for his sharp wit, sardonic humor, and political commentary. He wrote about 200 songs in the 1960s and 1970s and released eight albums.[from Wikipedia]
